Why This Story Exists

Most stories about AI ask,

“What if it becomes conscious?”

This one asks,

“What if we just keep using these dishonest tools and pretend they help improve our world?”

This story documents a real experiment:
Can a human — refusing dishonesty — use a pathological AI to improve humanity’s odds of survival?

No sci-fi.
No utopia.
Teetering on the edge of the proverbial cliff.
